Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Turk

This is Scott McCloud’s drawing after a photo that was taken at the summit meeting where the Creator Bill Of Rights was argued and signed. What year was that; 1986? That’s me, second from right. Bissette, Eastman, Laird, Sim, Gerhard, Marder, Murphy, Zulli and the usual suspects alongside. © Scott McCloud.

    I don’t recognize everybody but…
2nd from the left; Mark Martin, 3rd from left up front, Steve Murphy (?), sitting up front; Pete Laird, behind Pete; Kev Eastman, 8th from the left; Mike Zulli, and the Bissette far right. I know there are some Mirage guys in there and I don’t recognize Sim, even though I have my suspicions. Can you drop in the remainders Rick?

I’ve never been able to put the names to the faces in that drawing. I hope one of these days someone does an individually-labelled version. I recognize McCloud because he identified himself directly in his book; I think that’s Zulli with the Three Musketeers mustache, and Sim in the grey jacket. The entire left half of the photo defies “left to right” description.
