We Continue To Interupt This Dream For An Obama Coin
Seeing all the news reports about the so-called “Obama Coin” got me thinking. I had an Obama Coin image! I made it in 2008 as a Photoshop learning exercise. If any art directors out there would like to license it to illustrate an article, get in touch.

Dreamt last night that you were the manager of a supermarket. I was introduced to you as you were overseeing the work of one of the check out chicks. I told you that I had a copy of almost everything that you’d done. You sneered, ” Do you have five thousand dollars? ” Inferring that that’s how much I would need to buy every publication your work had appeared in. I looked down at my feet, mumbling, ” I don’t have everything .” Also, you had a sign up explaining that really you were a comic book artist – and promoting your work to customers. I thought there were probably other creative people working there…but I didn’t see any signs up promoting their creative endeavours. You were a pretty obnoxious character.
This morning, clearing up piles of comics, I picked up Dead Of Night #10 (1975), the first story of which is the Kirby illustrated, ‘I Dream Of Doom’ – a re-print from the Atlas days. After reading all the Rare Bits I was struck by how reading this story felt like an extension of your series – with what an influence on your style he is and how in some of your dreams you consciously and overtly mimick his style. The cover says : ‘I Dream Of Doom! And My Dreams Come True!’ …Bummer.
