Own The Hairy Eyeballs Cover!

Available for purchase is the cover art to GREYSHIRT: INDIGO SUNSET #6, with GREYSHIRT pulling back the curtain to reveal an unexpected invasion of Hairy Eyeballs. This one was a real crowd pleaser when it first appeared back in 2001. The original is in perfect condition and I’d like to get $500 for it.

If you are interested, give me a yodel.

UPDATE: We have a buyer.

Other pieces of original art, some already sold and some still available, can be viewed in the gallery.

Own Heaven And Hell DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD!

Here’s a nice double page spread from SWAMP THING 76 I’m offering up for sale. Script and penciling by me, inks by Alfredo Alcala and lettering (on the boards) by John Costanza. It features THE DEMON and PHANTOM STRANGER observing the moment of conception when the SPROUT enters ABBY’s womb. Then the action moves to Heaven’s North Slope where GOOD and EVIL hold each other in eternal balance.

These pages were done on the extra large size art paper that DC used for a while in the 1980′s, so the whole spread, on two separate boards, measures a whopping 24″ x 19″. Below are closeups each of each board.

Both pages are in very good condition with the usual amount of editorial blue-lining and a few lettering corrections. I’d like to get $350 for them. If you are interested, just shoot me an email.

UPDATE: We have a buyer.

Check out the other originals I have for sale in the gallery.

Own An Original SWAMP THING Cover!

I think this is the last SWAMP THING cover I have; an interesting brush, ink and airbrush combo of ABBY in smothering distress. Size is 11.25″ x 17″. It’s in great condition except for a very small staple tear in the upper left hand corner. I’d like to get $500 for it.

If you are interested in owning this piece, get in touch. Or of you are looking for an original from some other era in my career browse through the gallery and see what is still available.

Own Alan Moore’s Medphyl!

SWAMP THING pages from Alan Moore’s run are as scarce as hens teeth, but here’s your chance to own Page 13 from SWAMP THING #61. It features MEDPHYL, a vegetable GREEN LANTERN, confronted with a giagantic SWAMP THING made up of the citizens of MEDPHYL’s home planet. Pencils by Rick Veitch, inks Alfredo Alcala and lettering, on the board, by John Costanza.

This page is in perfect condition. The hand of the GREEN LANTERN is statted in panels 2 and 3. Typical editorial blue lining. I’d like to get $300 for it. Shoot me an email if you are interested.

And check out my gallery of other pages (some of which has already sold).

Own William Bendix With A Pencil In His Eye!

Here’s your chance to own a piece of original art from a simpler time; when the graphic novelization of a Stephen Spielberg blockbuster would be handed over to two lunatics like Veitch and Bissette. This particular page from “1941: The Illustrated Story” is a great example of the painted collage style we used to make much of the book into a demented variation on the album cover art to SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND. Bob Hope, Chevy Chase, W.C. Fields, J. Edgar Hoover and Elsie The Cow are among the bloodied, zombified crowds that litter the streets of Spielberg’s celluloid dreams.

This page is in perfect condition; the collage still glued solidly after thirty years! Size is 13.5″ x 17″. I’d like to get $300 for it. If interested in purchasing this Hollywood artifact to have and to hold, shoot me an email.

Or check out some of the other original art pages I’ve put up for sale.

Own The Parliament Of Trees DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD!

One of the very cool things about doing SWAMP THING in the late 1980′s was that, for a short period, they relegated the ads to the back of the books. Besides allowing for a much more coherent reading experience, the format offered me the opportunity to work in double page spreads whenever I felt the storytelling benefited.

Here’s a nice example that I’m offering for sale. It’s pages 12 and 13 from SWAMP THING #68 and features Swampy visiting the Parliament Of Trees and mind-melding with a group of previous Earth Elementals. There’s also an appearance by Swampy’s immediate predecessor. The spread (as seen above) is created by joining two pieces of art. Here are closer looks at each page.

The art was done on the oversized boards DC was using in those days so the whole spread measures out at a monstrous 24.5″ x 20″! Script and pencils by Rick Veitch, inks by Alfredo Alcala and lettering (on the boards) by John Costanza.

Both pieces of art are in good condition. There is typical editorial blue-lining and two balloons and a handful of single word lettering corrections are pasted up. I’d like to get $350 for the set.

UPDATE: We have a buyer.

E-mail if interested. And check the gallery for other available originals.

Abby And The Sprout

This week’s piece of original art that I’m putting up for sale is a nice shot of ABBY meeting the SPROUT from SWAMP THING #74, Page 19. Script and pencils by Rick Veitch, inks by Alfredo Alcala and lettering (on the board) by John Costanza. This piece is on the oversized boards DC used for a short time in the late 1980′s, measuring 13.5″ x 19.5″. It’s in excellent condition with normal editorial blue-lining and lettering corrections.

I’d like to get $150 for it. If you are interested email me.

Make Mine Retro

There’s more in my retro bag of tricks than just Jack Kirby. When given the chance I like to ape the style of all kinds of artists. Here’s a splash page from CAPTAIN AMERICA #50 in which I was asked to provide the look and feel of one of my favorite draftsmen, Gene Colon. And with none other than Tom Palmer on the inks, how could it miss? ©Marvel Characters

Anyone interested in owning this beauty, get in touch.

UPDATE: We have a buyer.
